Ultrasonic Testing (UT) Level I

Arrelic define Ultrasonic testing as NDT operation which uses high frequency sound waves to detect imperfections or changes in properties within the materials. It can also be used to measure the thickness of a wide range of metallic and non-metallic materials where access from one side only is available. This operation can perform either before or after machining as per the requirements.

UT Level-I Responsibility:

  1. Select proper test technique, equipment and probes
  2. Set up and calibrate the equipment
  3. Perform testing and interpret the results as per standards

This course provides a basic knowledge of ultrasonic testing fundamentals sufficient to enable the technician to carry out ultrasonic testing to established procedures under the supervision of Level 2 or Level 3 personnel.
